Chairs in Need
Support service for chairs and their boards

Chairing can be a heavy responsibility. Don’t shoulder it alone.
We know that chairing a non-profit can be very demanding. Chairs and vice-chairs regularly have to deal with both practical and interpersonal challenges in their role.
Recruiting, managing underperformance, keeping the organisation afloat, and handling difficult relationships within the board or executive are just a handful of the common issues we’ve recently helped chairs with.
The support we can offer
Thanks to funding from Garfield Weston Foundation, the Association of Chairs is running a pilot scheme to provide extra guidance and support for chairs and vice-chairs.
Whatever issues you are facing, we or someone we know will have faced something similar, or will know where you can go for guidance.
We can offer different kinds of support depending on your needs, including:
- Peer support through our online support sessions and friendly WhatsApp group
- Connection with an experienced mentor who can act as a sounding board to help you find solutions
- Access to professional guidance and advice
- Suggestions of relevant AoC resources
- Signposts to external sources of information and guidance
